UGGGGH......MIA'S HAIR!!

Mia's curly hair is such a good thing and such a bad thing. I think it is super cute but she hates getting it brushed. She asks me almost everyday, "mommy, why did I have to get curly hair?" The pictures below will illustrate what it looks like every morning when she wakes up for school. I wonder what she does with that head in her sleep.

We have little time to get it all brushed and fixed and looking acceptable. She whines, she complains, and there is lot of, "Mia hold still and be quiet.....the bus is coming!" The first time I told her that her hair looked like a rat's nest, she was horrified that rats had gotten in her hair. A discussion about figures of speech ensued.

In the end we get this. She picked out the bows.

Happy girl now that it's over. No more untangling.

She is ejoying fixing her own hair now. With accessories to boot. I have to still help most days with the really messy parts.

GREAT NEWS!! All 3 of my kids have curly hair. Oh happy day!

I wish one of my kids would get some curl. She is getting so big.

I think Mia's hair looks really nice after it is detangled. But, as coming from one who has wavy hair, it is better to use a hair pick than a brush. If you are making a pony tail or something a brush is ok, but in general if she is going to have her hair "long", please have mercy and use a pick

Ha ha ha, that is quite the transformation! So cute. I love little kids with curly hair.

I'm impressed, Diane. You do good work.

I'm having flashbacks to when my mom would rip through my hair with a brush and tell me to stop whining.

I'm kinda glad I don't have to deal with that. When my boys' hair gets long enough to need combing, that's when I cut it.

Her hair is gorgeous, but I'm sure there are a lot of tears involved. I would be a mess trying to do a little girls hair! Luckily all I have to do is buzz my boys every few weeks!

Flash backs of my childhood came to me when I saw Mia's hair. My mom started bathing me at night and then braiding it so in the morning she could just sritz it and fix it. Oh it saved my head from so much pain.
She is a beautiful girl and I just love all those beautiful curls. :)
