WE ARE HAVING A.........

Well, the truth of the matter is.......the baby's legs were crossed. But.......the sonographer said, "I think it's a girl......yeah, it's a girl." So I asked the doctor to take a look and he said, "the legs are crossed but from what I see in the picture, you have a 90% chance that this is a girl." So, since I really want a girl and since they were mostly confident in their decision, and since we have really only talked about girl names.......I'm running with it. I have an ultrasound every month and so I'll have another one next month so if it changes......I'll let you know. I would have put a picture of the ultrasound on but it was a crappy picture and we don't have a scanner. So......cross your fingers that it really is a girl because Dallin is all the boy I can handle right now. Maybe tomorrow will be different. Plus, we've told everyone it's a girl so I don't want to call people again.

Pregnancy Update

I am 18 weeks now which is almost halfway for me bacause I will deliver by 38 weeks. This was taken a couple of days ago. It is an ugly picture taken right before bed when I was really tired but it does the job of showing the belly. I am quite dizzy most of the day. I am not as tired but still get frequent nosebleeds. I'm sad because I can no longer comfortably sleep on my stomache. I have felt a few movements from the baby already. I have gained about 4 pounds. It is getting really hard for me to carry Dallin up and down the stairs which for some reason he now insists on. At times I have only had enough energy to make dinner but now I am able to do some "chores" around the house everyday. I am seeing 4 specialists (a nephrologist, an endocrinologist, a perinatologist and a retina specialist) and an OBGYN of course. They all say that everything is going very well. We will be finding out soon what the gender is. I feel pretty good. We will keep you posted.

7 Things You Don't Know About Me

1.) I pee in the shower.......It's all the same pipes, right??
2.) I graduated from High School with a 4.0 GPA and a 96.8 grade average and 5th in my class......too bad college wasn't the same
3.) One day I aspire to have enough money to use it wisely on a breast reduction
4.) I have chronic nose bleeds......especially right now while I'm pregnant.....everyday
5.) I only buy real leather shoes......unless there is no leather involved
6.) I don't care if there are dirty clothes all over my bedroom floor and I step on them......they are already dirty so what's the harm
7.) Since I've had radiation for cancer I have a really dry mouth and the hair on my legs and in my pits doesn't grow much so I haven't shaved my legs in weeks......aw, who am I kidding, months really.....I do shave my pits though

Such a big helper

Mia feeding her cousin Jackson. She wants to do everything for him. She will be such a big helper when the baby gets here. Too bad I'm not planning on bottle feeding. DANG IT! She is excited for the new one to come. Quite often when I use the bathroom or go to the dr. she asks me if the baby is coming out. I'm not sure she remembers that Dallin did not come out in a bathroom.

Mia is the typical 4 year old girl and literally changes her clothes at least 5 times a day. Since I can't remember what she has only worn for three minutes and what she actually might have gotten dirty I just wind up washing everything. UGH!! This is one of the outfits she came up with the other day.

DON'T TAKE MY PICTURE!

If any of you guys wonder why I don't appear frequently on this blog there are two reasons. 1.) pictures of my kids are much better and 2.) I don't REALLY like getting my picture taken. This is the face Ben usually gets when he takes a picture of me when I'm not in the mood for one. Which is almost always.

Mia is such a girl

Mia brought me a wad of hair things the other day and said, "mom, put all of these in my hair." Since there were quite a few I needed to get creative. When Ben and I laughed at her she instantly wanted to take it out. She doesn't like people to laugh at her. We had to expalin that not all laughing is because someone is making fun of you. We convinced her we really liked it and she kept it in for a while. BTW......she loves that ugly tank top that someone gave her. She wants to wear it almost everyday. It's not my favorite.

Silly Dallin

Dallin generally makes me laugh. BUT, there are many times when I find myself wondering if he is more monster, or more sweet little boy who makes me laugh. I think my answer changes at different times of the day.

OUR ONCE A YEAR SNOW IN GA

I always have people ask me if it gets cold in the south during the winter. I say....."uh, yeah.....it's the winter" Then they ask, "do you ever get snow in the south?" I say, "usually we get a light snow shower once a year." Here's our token snow shower for the winter......yes, in the south. The kids had a great time playing in it and only came in once their hands were freezing. Of course all the pictures are blurry but you get the idea. I think the camera must have fogged up in the cold??

NAUSEA AT A WHOLE NEW LEVEL

So.....the kids rarely use their tub to take a bath. They prefer ours because it's big and somehow that makes it better and more fun. We had my sister Angel and her roommate Lisa visit for a few days after Christmas. Of course they used the kids bathroom. After they left Mia took a shower in there and Ben noticed the water wasn't draining well. So as Ben usually does he decided to dig the clog out instead of using Drano like I would. I'm sure some of this is from the previous owners and the band-aid is most likely from Mia......but all I'm saying is that Angel and Lisa finally put it over the top. Their hair must fall out in record numbers of strands a day. They can dispute this but I know it was their fault :) Every time I look at it I gag and almost throw up and that is not from being pregnant at this point.

Christmas Slideshow.....Finally!!

I finally decided to add some Christmas pictures......uh, 14 days after the fact. SORRY!! We didn't really get any good ones of Christmas day because we mostly took video. And our camera ran out of batteries at the worst times......like when we played in the snow. Lame, I know.

DALLIN'S 2ND BIRTHDAY......AND THANKSGIVING

SO DALLIN'S BIRTHDAY THIS YEAR ALSO HAPPENED TO BE THANKSGIVING. ALL IN ALL IT WAS A GREAT DAY. WE HAD 16 PEOPLE AND TONS OF FOOD. WHEN IT CAME TIME TO SING TO DALLIN.....I HAVE TO TELL YOU THAT IT WAS MUCH BETTER THAN IT SEEMS IN THE VIDEO. HE HAD JUST WOKEN UP FROM HIS NAP AND GENERALLY NEEDS A LITTLE WHILE TO PERK UP. BUT, WE HAD TO GET THE PARTY STARTED SO WE JUMPED RIGHT INTO THE CAKE AND SONG AND THE OUTCOME WAS SAD BUT COMICAL. HE LATER BECAME MUCH HAPPIER AND ENJOYED HIS PRESENTS WHICH CONSISTED OF NEW SHOES AND SOCKS, A COUPLE OF HOTWHEELS CARS, A MAGNETIC TRUCK, A LEAPFROG ALPHABET SONG THING THAT GOES ON THE FRIDGE AND TEACHES KIDS THEIR LETTERS WITH THEIR SOUINDS, A LITTLE EINSTEINS VIEW FINDER AND SOME MONEY.

WHILE I WENT TO TOFW A FEW WEEKENDS AGO......BEN TOOK THE KIDS TO THE ZOO AND THEY HAD A GREAT TIME. THEY USUALLY GO WITH ME WHILE BEN IS AT WORK SO IT WAS GOOD FOR THEM TO GO WITH DADDY.

TIME OUT FOR WOMEN

THIS WEEKEND WE WENT TO TIME OUT FOR WOMEN. IT WAS MY FIRST TIME AND I RATHER ENJOYED IT. IT WAS UPLIFTING, INSPIRING, TEAR-JERKING AND AMONG OTHER THINGS......ENTERTAINING.

Michael McLean was our host so he sang many times as he did the segways into the other presenters.....I had been to a couple of firesides by him while I was at BYU so I had heard some of his cheesy lines before but it was still good
Jenny Oaks Baker(daughter of Dallin H. Oaks) was our musical talent for Friday night and talented she is. She plays the violin and graduated from Juilliard.....ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!
Mary Ellen Edmonds was a speaker on Friday and she was one of my favorites.......VERY FUNNY!!
Cherie Call was the musical presenter on Saturday. She is a singer/songwriter that I had heard of many times but never listened to. I liked her a lot. She was kind of folk-ie but it wasn't too much for me. We had many other presenters including Emily Watts which I also loved and a couple of professorsf rom BYU and an Air Force pilot who now writes books. All in all it was great.
